Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the Briefd platform at briefd.uk ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Briefd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

Briefd is an AI-powered meeting preparation tool that generates research briefs on individuals using publicly available information including LinkedIn profiles, company news, and web sources. We provide this as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product.

• You must be at least 16 years old to use Briefd.
• You must provide accurate registration information.
• One person may not maintain more than one free account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation, including data protection laws.
• Harass, stalk, or unlawfully monitor any individual.
• Research individuals without a legitimate professional purpose (e.g. pre-meeting preparation, recruitment, or sales prospecting).
• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the platform.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or access our AI models or proprietary systems.
• Use the Service to generate content about minors.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
• All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.
• Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time from your account settings.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused brief allowances except where required by law.
• Deep Dive credits are one-time purchases and are non-refundable once used.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

The free plan grants 5 briefs per calendar month with no credit card required. We reserve the right to modify the free plan limits at any time. Free plan brief history is retained for 7 days only and will be deleted after that period.

• The Briefd platform, brand, and codebase are our intellectual property.
• Brief outputs generated for you belong to you. You may use them freely for your professional activities.
• You grant us a limited licence to store and process your inputs solely to provide the Service.
• We do not claim ownership of the content you enter into Briefd.

Our use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Briefd uses large language models and web scraping to generate research summaries. All outputs are AI-generated and may contain inaccuracies, errors, or outdated information. You are responsible for verifying any information before acting on it. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated brief.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not liable for any loss arising from inaccurate AI-generated content or third-party data sources.

You agree to indemnify and hold Briefd harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice where possible. We may update these Terms at any time — material changes will be communicated by email with at least 14 days' notice.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. We may terminate your account immediately for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
